It seemed like a good idea, and really i think it was! just disappointed it didnt work like I was hoping!🤷♂️
Here is the story: they make shop presses, and one of the attachments you can buy is a press brake attachment. I of course think I NEED this.😜 i mean how awesome would it be to bend metal? I can think of a thousand uses for this- 1st of those would be to make the mounts for some ramps for a buddy. Anyway, this all seems cool, and it does work- it like everything else is expensive. I did some resaerch and decided that the Northern Tool Strongway 12T shop press would be plenty for what i wanted. I waited and was able to get it for close to the same price as the HFT model. Next was to figure out the brake. I could buy one for $200, but I would still have to weld it together so, I figured, heck- I can make that. Yea, well, sometimes things dont exactly work like we want!😂😂 So i put all this together and decided to see if it would work.
As you can see, it didnt quite work like I wanted. so, back to the drawing board, and time to make this press a little more ”Mikey Proof”. Hopefully this week I can get it put together.
A little side project was a tractor seat I picked up at and antique shop here in town. Got a good deal and decided to upgrade the broken plastic $3 Bottle cap stool I had in the shop. About 10 minutes with the wire wheel, some red paint and a 4”x4” piece of quarter plate drilled and tapped and in an hour, I had a new seat!😁 I got a second tractor seat, but that project will take a little longer😜
Hopefully in the next week I can get some pics of a quick rack I made for the Station, and get the press up and running.
Yes, the short guy in the pic is me😜 Needless to say, things have been a little crazy this month! Fortunately, no one was hurt in this wreck. got to love winter driving in the midwest! Hopefully Mother Nature will once again prove the weather forecasters wrong, and we don’t get the weather- I really want to getsome of my projects done!11 LOL😂😂
