Being There

Man, what a wild ride life can be! How crazy is it that you can push yourself so hard that five minutes to write a blog is just too much? That’s exactly what I did to my self-pushed to the point that I was barely sleeping, to many projects, to many chores, and let’s add to the fact the our Fire Department is one of -if not THE-busiest in the State!😜

This weekend the wife said we were going to pull the camper to a church retreat. Fully believing in the wise adage “happy wife, happy life”, I pulled our camper to a wonderful little peaceful church camp ground about 45 minutes up the road. Best thing we have done all summer!! We all desperately needed a reset, and the peaceful lens’s we found here was just the ticket. The Sky Pilot did a good job, speaking about being “There”. Being in the here and now, not thinking about the six million projects, or work on Tuesday or the laundry, but just taking the rime to focus on the here and now and actually be there. So we worked on being THERE, and it was a relaxing far more than any vacation! Don’t get me wrong, I still found stupid stuff to do, but it was great to just be there. I’ve not been the beat about saying no, or being there for my wife. This weekend was just what the doctor ordered.

Not only did I have fun, but I got to speak to some fellow Hard of Hearing individuals-one who is nervous and not sure about CI’s, and to actually get to explain why music in services is soooo hard that it makes the experience bad enough to not want to go. Don’t ever pass up an opportunity to advocate, or help educate on those things that are passionate for you! You never know when the opportunity will come up!

Yes, that’s me in the blue shirt and cowboy boots😜😂

Hopefully, I can be there more, and next week catch up on stuff😜
