Proud Dad and The End of a Chapter

I’m a little behind again this week. Turned kinda crazy this weekend-

That’s our old garage, the last bit of mess left over from the tornado.

This is my garage 2 1/2hrs later with the help of great friends and skid loader😂

Then there was some good training, driving the Big Red Truck. And had some excitement of going on a couple fire runs!

But the big deal is tonight was the end of my Oldest Munchkin’s high school career. I want to take a second and recognize her dedication and love of the band program. I think I would run outof word space if I listed all the Honor Bands, Gold Solo and Ensemble awards in Jazz and Concert. Not to mention the THREE years as Drum Major.

2020/2021 Senior year has been tough. A lot of hard lessons learned. She loves the band so much, she has chosen that as a career and will pursue Music Education in the Fall. We are proud of her. Unashamedly so. She is a hard worker and driven, and I can’t wait to see where she goes!

On a totally separate note, the final concert was tonight. The first concert of a full band since going Bilateral and having both ears. It was quite the experience. I am 100% positive the gym is not the best acoustics, but holy cow, the kazzo’s need to go!1 LOL! My wife says they are call clarinets, but the noise I heard escapes my ability to describe. Let’s just say that I may or may not have turned them off😜

Bottom line, this is the end of an era in our house, and everything is taking a back seat as I try to soak it all in.
