Sparking a New Adventure! (And Conversation)

Guess who the newest Probationary Member of the Pendleton Fire Department is???๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I can not express how excited I am about this. I have missed being a Firefighter for so many years. Imagine losing the ability to do something you love, and watch it go by your house everyday. Every stinking day for over 12 years. Every time I heard a siren, a reminder that I wasnโ€™t capable anymore. But, every time I heard that siren, I ran to the window like a little kid and watched them race by. So, to say I am grateful and excited doesnโ€™t even come close to how much this means.

This is possible because I had that difficult conversation- I knew my hearing was bad, but I did not want to admit it. Why? Why is there a stigma around it? Honestly, finding what I have been missing makes me want to scream at people-โ€œGET YOUR HEARING CHECKED!!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™m still missing a lot, it takes time to figure this cyborg stuff out, but each day gets better. Everyday is a step towards better hearing, and while the road has been filled with potholes and twist and turns, I am thankful I am able to take it.

So, whatโ€™s with the picture- thatโ€™s me using a fabulous toy called the Arcair.. it uses electricity and oxygen to cut metal. Fun stuff, had to figure out how to get holes in a cast iron post that was a little over an inch thick! Cool stuff, but gouging holes is not as much fun as you would think๐Ÿ˜ณ and can lead to some issues๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Guess I get to start my new adventures with new pants๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
